OUR STORY

Our club began in 1969 with its original name, Christchurch dog training club .

For many years it was a club that trained Domestic classes (pet dog training) as well as running Obedience competitions. 

The club had a great reputation and produced many Obedience Champions and Grand Champions.

Having lost the use of longtime grounds on Marchlands road the club became more mobile. We trained at Ouruhia Domain, Kaiapoi parks and reserves and Parklands Hall in winter.

In 2025 we had the opportunity to add Hoopers events to our calendar and we now train Hoopers and run events.

In 2026 we changed our name to Rally Obedience Canterbury (The ROC group) - a more modern and fun interpretation of the things we do with our dogs.
